Fazli is my second Sloughi. I had decided that we should not have a female dog in the house, since my previous dogs had been male dogs and I had found them to be easier than female dogs, or so I thought.
The search began and I scanned different countries and various breeders. I ended up deciding I wanted a Sloughi from the world famous kennel Schuru Esch Schams. I contacted Mr and Mrs Schritt and they reserved a Sloughi male puppy from their F-litter, this was Fazli.
I and Bo went by car to Hünstetten outside Frankfurt to pick up Fazli, this was in October 2002. We had a short but very nice stay together with Mr and Mrs Schritt. They greeted us warmly and very openly shared their experiences in breeding with me, for which I'm very grateful.
It is hard to imaging a dog more relaxed and secure about himself than Fazli. He never gets into fights or quarrel with other dogs. A bit lazy though, but so pleasant to be with, he loves to cuddle and snuggle in one of the sofas in the warmth of our open fire with us.
However nice and gentle he is at home, he is still the fastest on the racetrack, he simply loves to run. He even manages to impress the Greyhound people with his speed on the racetrack.
Fazli is a very sound and balanced Sloughi with good proportions and correct angulations. He has a very good head and expression. Despite the fact that he is a very good male, he will never be a top winning dog because he could not care less about shows. He finds the “show-circus” plain boring and therefore he does not show well in the rings, unfortunately.
