Uadi has very quickly become the Princess of our household. She arrived on a cold and brisk day in November 2003, not fully understanding where on earth she had ended up after a very long and tiresome journey.
I went to pick her up in France, just outside Toulouse, to meet the wonderful Laurence Gouzy and Michel Gouzy. It was a great pleasure to enjoy their hospitality and to get to know them, though briefly.
I got very inspired by listening to their philosophy around Sloughi breeding and how they look upon the breed. Laurance and Michel also generously shared their experiences around their small but quality aimed breeding with me. Thanks for the inspiration!
Uadi represents most of what I look for in my ideal Sloughi. No dog is perfect, thank God! However she is as close to the perfect Sloughi as a dog can get, in my personal opinion:
She has the mildest temperament one can whish for. Having said that Uadi can switch to a full scale hunter in a fraction of a second if a deer, rabbit or even a squirrel comes into sight. She has no problem with other dogs and will gladly play with other bitches or male dogs. She has a tendency of being a bit shy with other humans other than the ones she knows, however this is fading away more and more as she matures.
Her movements are pleasant to watch, she moves with ease and with flowing efficiency. Her speed and dedication on the Lure coursing field or on the race-track is a treat to see.
When it comes to her looks other people shall make their own judgment, for me she is simply a star!
